Well, I went to work yesterday and got home around 10pm and sat on my couch. How lame, right? I mean, it's Friday night in Dallas and I wanted to go out and do something so I texted a few people to see what they were doing. Finally, my friend Serina (over at Tiny Obsession) was just sitting at home drinking wine and watching a movie and said she was down to go out and that a band she knew was playing at Gas Monkey Bar and Grill.
Ok, I put on some pants and went to find her apartment since I'd never been there. Finally after circling the complex twice I found her standing outside waving hysterically. She jumped in my car and we were off....ish. I took the long way to get the short way, but whatever, we got there. She's never been to Gas Monkey before and she liked it. I'd never heard this band before, and I really liked them!ISHI from Dallas, an electronica band. JT, the singer, came out in some light up head dress and a red cape and carried a light up shield. He danced and sang and got groovy out in the crowd. It was a lot of fun, there were so many different types of people in the crowd all dancing to the same music, it was awesome.
After Serina went to say hi to him and we took pictures, I told her I was starving and I wanted Waffle House. She never ate at Waffle House before! This blew my mind, so of course I had to show her the ways. We got there before the bar crowds and was able to find a booth. I told our waitress our situation and I said, "So, I'm fixing to school her here."
I ordered my standby: hashbrowns scattered all the way minus the chili, an order of raisin toast and sweet tea. Oh, and since they had just opened up a pecan pie, I had a slice of that too. Serina had a few bites and said, "Oh! this is really good!" I said, "I know!" We put a dollar in the jukebox and played Queen, The Beastie Boys, Queensryche and the time warp dance from Rocky Horror Picture Show. Everyone was really annoyed by our dancing, but who cares about that.
I'm glad she went out with me, I really needed a break from my stressing out business.
Thanks!
